Clayton Moore

Moore was raised in Illinois and started his career as a circus acrobat at the age of 8. In 1949, he began his most famous role as the The Lone Ranger, first in radio and then on television. During that time, he was the most popular TV western star in America. In 1990, he received the Western Heritage Award from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame.
