Samuel “Booger Red” Privett, Jr.

2007

Samuel “Booger Red” Privett, Jr.

World renowned cowboy and owner of his own Wild West Show and World Champion Bronc rider. He rode his last ride in the Cowtown Coliseum in 1925 when he was in his sixties just prior to his death. Severely burned at the age of 12, his friends joked that he was sure “boogered up‚” and since he had red hair the name stuck with him. “Booger Red” was never thrown from any bronc that he mounted. He was inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in 1975.
