Britt Johnson

Johnson was a slave of Moses Johnson in Young County, Texas. In 1864, Comanche warriors raided the settlement, killing his son and kidnapping his wife and remaining three children. After years of searching, he found and Indian encampment where his wife and children were. Befriending the Indians, Johnson succeeded in getting back his wife and children. Years later he was killed in an Indian raid but not before putting up a fight.
