Charles M. Russell
1999
A severe form of dysgraphia kept this small boy from writing in a straight line so he began to draw pictures. Fulfilling a dream of living as a cowboy and wrangler, Russell helped others see the beauty of the West through his more than 3,000 paintings, drawings and sculptures. Much of his art can be seen in Fort Worth’s Sid Richardson and Amon Carter Museums.
