James Butler “Wild Bill” Hickok

James Butler Hickok, a former wagon boss, civilian army scout and Union spy, was distinguished by his long auburn hair and drooping straw-colored mustache. Touring with Buffalo Bill Cody in the Wild West Show all over the world made Wild Bill Hickok famous. He was shot in the back during a poker game in 1876.
