Western Horseman is a monthly publication and is part of Morris Communications. It was founded by Paul Albert and was first published in January 1936 in Lafayette, California. It features articles on ranching, breeding and care of horses, horse training and western riding. It is known as “The World’s Leading Horse Magazine in 1936” or “America’s Favorite Horse Magazine since 1936”.

The magazine was acquired by John Ben Snow in 1946 and moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1948. In 2001, the publication was acquired by Morris Communications . In February 2010, the magazine relocated to Fort Worth, Texas.
