John Ford was a film director, producer, actor, writer, and six time Oscar winner. He is best remembered for his classic westerns such as Stagecoach, She Wore A Yellow Ribbon and The Searchers. He was a thorough taskmaster who inspired fierce loyalty among his actors and crew. He used much of the same cast and crew in many of his movies including legends such as John Wayne, Ward Bond, Henry Fonda, and Ben Johnson. Ford also had a distinguished military career directing World War II documentaries.
