Watt Matthews

The story of Watkins Reynolds Matthews is also a story of an historic Texas ranch, the Lambshead Ranch near Albany, Texas. His story is chronicled in the book Interwoven: A Pioneer Chronicle, written by his mother Sallie Ann Reynolds Matthews. A graduate of Princeton University, much of his life, he slept in the ranch bunkhouse on a cot among the ranch cowboys. As Western tradition dictates for cowboys, he was buried in a plain pine box on the ranch, dressed in his jeans, boots, and kerchief.
